The DIAC have announced significant changes to the General Skilled Migration scheme, effective 1 July 2012.
The new GSM Subclasses which will come into effect are:
- Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
- Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
- Skilled Nominated or Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 489)
These new subclasses will join the new Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 186) and Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 187). For more information on the new ENS and RSMS visas, please see our previous FAQ item.
