Citizenship in 90 days? - Migration Place

A permanent resident may be granted citizenship after completing 90 days service in the Australian Defence Force (“ADF”) or six months in the Reserves. These provisions are used by ADF “lateral transfer members”.

The Australian Citizenship Amendment (Defence Service Requirement) Bill 2012 is currently before Parliament, and (if passed) will ensure spouses and dependent children of ADF lateral transfer members will also be eligible for citizenship.
