Act quickly if you want an Australian partner visa!
The rules (and fees) change on 1 July 2017.
The new rules add an extra stage – basically this stage requires the Australian partner to secure the DIBP’s permission to sponsor you, before you can lodge for a partner visa.
This means this extra stage may prevent you applying for a partner visa, before your current visa expires.
If that happens, you will likely have to leave Australia before you can lodge your application, and deal with shuffling country and visas to stay together.
To avoid the risk (and cost and stress) of being separated during the visa application, contact our experienced registered migration lawyers ASAP.
Talk to us also if have not been together for 12 months – there are exceptions.
Also, if you miss the 1 July deadline, then you should still act quickly and talk to us about how to apply under the new system – new systems usually have a new waiting queue, so applying early means you can enjoy fast processing!
