If you are currently on a 417 or 462 Visa, there are some important changes that give you even more reason to come to Australia!
The Australian Government have announced an update to both the Work and Holiday (Subclass 462) Visa and the Working Holiday (Subclass 417) Visas.
Whilst these visas already allow a potential 1-year extension of stay in Australia, changes are being put in place to further encourage social and cultural ties. These changes have been implemented within the existing Working Holiday visa and Work and Holiday visa framework to the interpretation of the 6-month work limitation.
To that end, visa holders can now work for an employer for longer than 6 months provided that the physical location is different after the first six months.
Please note that this new change does not allow visa holders to stay with the same employer in the same location but simply change roles after the first 6 months. You will only be allowed to stay with the same employer if you will be working in a different location – i.e. being transferred as a manager of a hotel in Melbourne to its Sydney office that has the same owner or ‘brand’.
