What costs are involved in my visa application? - Migration Place

The Migration Agent’s prices are different from the fees that DIAC charges for the application of the visa. Together they are often mistaken as the price paid to the Migration Agent. In effect you pay a price to the Migration Agent for the services provided, and separate fees to DIAC and other third parties for the actual visa application and the required examinations, checks and tests.

In short your anticipated costs can be divided as follows:

  1. Migration Agent prices;
  2. External outlays, including:
    – Department for Immigration (DIAC) fees
    – Bridging visa charges
    – Skills assessment charges
    – IELTS Examination charges
    – Health Check charges
    – Police Check charges

As a Migration Agent we can pay the external outlays for you if you wish. We maintain a separate client bank account, on which we can receive visa fees from you. We can then use this money with your approval to pay the external outlays on your behalf, as soon as required. These funds remain yours; they are only being transferred to the third parties via our bank account.

We believe fees should be reasonable and should reflect the work involved in the application or matter. We work with fixed fees. These allow you to know what the service will cost, so that you can make an informed decision before proceeding.

Some Migration Agents charge an additional price on top of their regular prices for ‘internal outlays’. These include the costs for copying, phone calls, facsimile messages, email and normal post. Internal outlays are included in our fixed price. We only charge you for extraordinary outlays, such as the cost of a courier to deliver documents.
