DIAC is increasing its fees

DIAC is increasing its fees (yet again) for a number of visa subclasses:

1. The increases will be between 5% and 15%, and will take effect in 2012.
   These increases are likely to affect skilled visas, partner visas, investor visas, business visas, parent and retirement visas.
   Employer sponsored visas and citizenship should remain unchanged.
2. DIAC will also be charging extra fees for:
   1. applicants who include additional family members
   2. paper applications where an online option is available

On the bright side, student visa DIAC fees will be reduced by 5% from 1 January 2012.

The visa rules are constantly changing – generally these changes make the process more complex, and difficult, with accompanying increases in DIAC fees.
